Principal's Message

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians:

On behalf of the Rawdon District School staff, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to another academic year here at Rawdon District School.  I am expecting this year to be an exciting time as our staff and volunteers strive to enhance the learning environment at this great school.

Rawdon District has approximately 100 students enrolled this year, in grades Primary-6.  There are five classroom teachers along with specialist teachers for Physical Education, Music, and French.  Phys Ed is on either Mondays,Tuesdays and Fridays, Music is on Tuesdays, and Thursdays and French is 150 minutes perweek for grades 4-6 students.  French will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.  We are also hoping to have our library program up and running this year thanks to wonderful volunteers. Library is scheduled to be on Mondays.

Rawdon District is working towards being a PEBS school. PEBS is Positive Effective Behaviour Support.  Our school has a common set of behaviour expectations that encourage students to make good choices and demonstrate respect for themselves, others, the environment and learning.  Our school is also learning about virtues which helps our students to develop a strong moral character, so that they can lead by positive example.

At Rawdon District we see our students as individuals who see themselves as both capable and successful.  We understand the importance of building character, and providing opportunities for success.  We take great pride in finding ways to meet both the academic and the emotional needs of all of our students.

This year is sure to be great!
